Fall Touring Show
The Performing Arts Department and the Theatre and Performance Studies program are
proud to be partnering with ÁNIMO Theatre Company of Ventura to present MARIACHI GIRL, a bilingual musical by Roxanne Schroeder-Arce
with music and lyrics by
Héctor Martínez Morales, directed by ÁNIMO Artistic Director and CI faculty Miguel
Orozco.
MARIACHI GIRL is a bilingual musical about a young girl’s dream of following in her father’s footsteps to become a Mariachi, but her dream runs counter to his traditional, patriarchal roots. Told through the eyes of a young girl, the musical explores cultural stereotypes and assimilation in the United States. It is a heartwarming story that celebrates cultural identity and promotes a positive self-image for young women.
Appropriate for ages 5 years and up.

CI students: FREE (Dolphin ID required) Students with reservations will have priority
seating. Seating is limited. Please make a reservation in advance.
Other Students: $5 (Student ID & School name required)
Faculty and Staff: $10 (Campus ID required)

Ventura County Tour Dates
CSUCI's Theatre and Performance Studies program and ÁNIMO Theatre Company's co-production of MARIACHI GIRL will tour to perform for four Ventura County schools's students and their families. Tickets are FREE for students!
