When you enroll as a Dance Studies, Music, or Theatre and Performance Studies major or a Performing Arts minor here at CI, you join a close-knit network that is quickly becoming a standout roster. Graduates of Performing Arts programs at CI have gone on to star and originate roles with Stephen Schwartz (creator of Wicked), work at one of the top dance agencies in Los Angeles, start a production company, attend graduate schools as close as Cal State LA and as far away as Kingston University in London, teach in their discipline in local schools, and work in regional theatre across the country.

The Performing Arts programs' curricula balance the cutting-edge with the traditional, embodied practice with rigorous grounding in theory, and group problem-solving with individual expression. Course work is designed to develop the twenty-first century skills required for leadership and collaboration in the real world. The faculty brings a wealth of real world experience; some of their credits include performing at The Paris Opera, playing for Lyle Lovett, dancing in television specials for Disney, conducting international opera stars, working with Shakespeare Santa Cruz, the Rent national tour, and many more. Their collective and varied breadth of experience, along with small class sizes, and the interdisciplinary and global perspectives that are hallmarks of CI, will help you develop your artistry and scholarship in order to become the innovators and leaders of the future.
