The Performing Arts minor provides non-majors the opportunity to explore an integrated experience in dance, music, and theatre both in theory and in practice. Students can choose from coursework in any of the three emphases of dance, music, and theatre, and participate in a Performing Arts production.

The Minor in Performing Arts gives students not majoring in Performing Arts access to the unique expertise and individualized attention of our entire faculty, while allowing for extensive customization in terms of course selection.

Lower Division Requirements - 9 units

Select one from the following:

PA 101 - Introduction to the Performing Arts Units: 3
PA 202 - Integrating Dance, Music and Theatre Units: 3

Select a minimum of two courses, for a total of six units, from the following:

Any PA, PADA, PAMU, or PATH lower division courses (numbered 100-299) not already completed in fulfillment of other minor requirements.

Upper Division Requirements - 12 units

Select one from following: (consult advisor)

PA 335 - Business and the Performing Arts (Cross-listed as BUS 335) Units: 3
PA 350 - Audience and Performance Studies Units: 3
PA 360 - Musical Theatre Units: 3

Select a minimum of three courses, for a total of nine units, from the following:

Any PA, PADA, PAMU, or PATH upper division courses (numbered 300-498) not already completed in fulfillment of other minor requirements.

A minor in Performing Arts develops experience and skills valued in many fields--artistic and otherwise.
